The
College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (CAST) is
dedicated to improving the environment and quality of life through
education, research, and public service in the areas of agriculture, food,
technology, and the family.
The college provides undergraduate, graduate and continuing
education programs which emphasize problem-solving, basic sciences,
up-to-date technology, and business management techniques.
The faculty and staff provide students with "hands on"
education through applied research, service activities, industry
internships and farm production projects.
This "hands on"
approach is made possible by the newly remodeled 1,083-acre University
Farm Laboratory, the California Agricultural Technology Institute (CATI)
and CAST's location in the nation's most productive agricultural valley.
